The Beekley Skin Marking System is a simple, effective way to unmistakably identify nipples, palpable masses, surgical scars and raised moles, resulting in a more precise interpretation of the mammogram. The system consists of four shapes, each with a distinct image and meaning on film. A radiolucent circle appearing on the film could only mean one thing - a raised mole. A radiolucent line indicates the incision of prior surgery; a radiolucent triangle lies over a palpable abnormality; a solid dot is the nipple.
